Today's TBT track pays tribute to fallen Atlanta legend Shawty Lo, who was killed in a horrific car wreck early Wednesday morning. Many of ATL's most respected artists have already shared their condolences and spoken on Lo's influence to their city's musical history. It's now time, if you haven't already, to revisit Lo's biggest hit, "Dey Know," released in late 2007. The song still bangs with an undeniable ATL flavor that isn't anywhere near its expiration. Lo's charisma and cool confidence lives on in the city's new generation of artists.

Shawty Lo was a founding member of the group D4L, who were pioneers in the influential wave of snap music. With his solo output, he helped bridge the gap between snap and the more street-oriented sounds of early trap music. His songs resonate equally triumphantly in the streets and in the club. DJs would be wise to give "Dey Know" multiple spins tomorrow night.
