Angelina Jolie appears in her own clothes and without makeup in a new ad for Louis Vuitton.
In a photo taken by Annie Leibovitz, the actress poses in a green marsh in the Siem Reap province of Cambodia barefoot and with a Vuitton bag for the brand’s “Core Values” campaign.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, which debuted the ad Monday, Leibovitz had to photograph around Jolie’s eldest four kids, who kept jumping into the frame.
“People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation,” Vuitton executive vice president Pietro Beccari tells WWD of Jolie’s stark look.
“I like the fact that it’s a real moment,” Beccari added. “This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand.”
Jolie filmed Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in Cambodia in 2000, and shortly after, adopted her first son, Maddox, now 10, from the country.
Jolie will donate the reported millions she earned from the ad to charity, WWD reports.
“This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey,” Beccari said.
Through her work as an ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Oscar winner continues to remain active in the country.
U2’s Bono, Sean Connery, Keith Richards and Catherine Deneuve also recently starred in their own Core Values LV campaigns.
