Harry Norbert Kalas (March 26, 1936 – April 13, 2009) was an American sportscaster best remembered for his Ford C. Frick Award-winning work as the main play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball from 1971 until his death in 200Kalas was also intimately associated with the NFL, acting as a voice-over narrator for NFL Films projects (a frequent fixture on Inside the NFL) and announcing football games for Westwood One radio throughout the country.
